Ruth E. Garster, 91, of Canton OH passed away Saturday morning in the Shady Lawn Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born in Canton, OH on July 6, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Grant and Frances (Dieringer) Mottice. S
he was a 1927 graduate of Waynesburg High School and a graduate of Canton Actual Business College. She retired from the Sealtest Sanitary Milk Co. in Canton. She was a member of the Waynesburg Presbyterian Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Verle Garster, four brothers, Donald, Arnold, Jeff and Merle Mottice; and a sister, Helen Grein. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Maxine Mottice of Smithville, OH and her sister and brother-in-law Mary and Thomas Stratton of Waynesburg, OH; sister-in-law Marie Mottice of North Canton; stepson and wife, Verle and Doris Garster of Canton; four step-grandchildren.
Her wishes were to be cremated. A graveside service for the burial of her remains will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Sandy Valley Cemetery in Waynesburg with Rev. James M. Hodsden officiating. There are no calling hours and the Reed Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
