Mary Catherine Mottice Stratton, 2-15-1918 to 1-9-2000
Mary Catherine Stratton, age 81, of Waynesburg, passed away Sunday evening in Aultman Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born in North Industry on Feb. 15, 1918, a daughter of the late Grant and Frances Dieringer Mottice and was a life resident of this area. She was a 1936 graduate of Waynesburg High School. Mary was retired from Harrison Paint & Decorating Center, after 24 years of service, where she worked in the office. She was a member of Waynesburg Presbyterian Church.
Preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Donald, Arnold, Jeff, and Merle Mottice and Helen Grein and Ruth Garster. Survived by her husband, Thomas H. Stratton, with whom she celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on June 14, 199; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Maxine of Smithville, OH; a sister-in-law, Marie Mottice of North Canton and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held on Sat., Jan. 15, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor James M. Hodson officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
