Mottice, James Garfield 1879-1975

From an unidentified and undated newspaper clipping:

"James Garfield (Butch) Mottice, 77, a retired farmer and a life resident of Sandy Township died Sunday in the residence at RD1, Waynesburg, after an illness of three weeks.

"Mr. Mottice belonged to Waynesburg Presbyterian Church, the Men's Bible Class, Magnolia Grange, Good Samaritan Lodge of the IOOF and was a charter member of the Choice Rebekah Lodge.

"Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lucy A. Mottice, to whom he had been married 56 years; three sons, Homer N. of East Sparta, Stanley F. and Kenneth S. Mottice of Waynesburg; a daughter Mrs. Mildred Fleenor of Canton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

"Funeral services were held at 1:30 at the McCreery-Kreighbaum Finefrock funeral home in Magnolia with Rev. Paul Beighley in charge and burial was in Sandy Valley Cemetery.

"The IOOF service was held at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening."
